If you ask me, I don't think it is only about free speech. It's also about privacy. For example, I have a right to criticize you as a writer. But I don't have any say in your personal life. To explain further, we should be vocal about the things that at large impact us both in an individual and social level. But we often abuse this power to bring down people for having different beliefs, culture, skin color, orientation, opinion then us. And people from both side of the spectrum are guilty of doing it.
