I'm sorry, Libby if you felt personally attacked. But let me assure you, it's not about you. Notice how the title says "Toxic" Self Help Gurus instead of "Any" Self Help Gurus?
Also, I assume you didn't read the whole thing, considering how you claimed me to be close-minded for not acknowledging the things I totally acknowledged in my conclusion.
You said as a self-help guru, you are not "selesy". I went out of my way to clear out that not everyone comes under the toxic category. You said how self-help books broke you out of autopilot. I went a bit farther and listed a few books that helped me do so.
Hell, even most things I write can be categorized as self-help. Just go and look around my profile.
In fact, if you were a bit more open-minded, you would see what I'm talking about. This scam had been there for decades and had been used by several extremely successful con artists. That's not my humble opinion, that's the hard fact. Also, the harsh reality is we don't see "Good" self-help gurus all over the popular media. We mostly see the toxic ones. They are much more organized (and a hell lot louder) than the likes of you and me. People are much more likely to be drawn into these sales funnels.
